Homemade Lemon Marmalade Recipe

Homemade Lemon Marmalade is a delectable spread that can be served on toast, scones, or as a meat glaze. It has a tangy and sweet flavor that is ideal for breakfast or snacking.

Ingredients

  • 8 lemons, thinly sliced and seeded
  • 8 cups sugar
  • 8 cups water

Time Needed

  • Prep Time: 10 minutes
  • Cook Time: 1 hour
  • Total Time: 1 hour, 10 minutes

Instructions

  • In a large pot, bring the sliced lemons and water to a boil.
  • Reduce the heat to low and continue to cook for 30 minutes, or until the lemon slices are soft.
  • Stir in the sugar until it is completely dissolved.
  • Bring the mixture to a boil by increasing the heat to high.
  • Cook for 20-30 minutes, or until the marmalade reaches a candy thermometer temperature of 220°F.
  • Remove from the heat and set aside for 5 minutes to cool.
  • Fill sterilized jars halfway with marmalade and tightly seal.
  • Allow to fully cool before serving or storing.
