Instructions

  • Wash the oranges thoroughly, then thinly slice them.
  • Bring the sliced oranges and water to a boil in a saucepan.
  • Simmer for about 30 minutes, or until the oranges are very soft and the liquid has reduced by half.
  • Stir in the sugar until it dissolves.
  • Cook, stirring occasionally, over low heat until the sugar dissolves completely.
  • Turn up the heat to high and bring the mixture to a boil.
  • Boil the mixture for about 10-15 minutes, or until it thickens and reaches the jelling point (220°F or 104°C).
  • Remove the pan from the heat and set aside for a few minutes to cool.
  • Allow the marmalade to cool completely in a jar before covering and storing in the refrigerator.
